Sustainability

Journeys that create real positive impact

Supporting local development and respecting natural environments

We’re not 100% sustainable yet—and we’re far from it. That’s the truth.
But we know one thing for sure: There’s no such thing as sustainability if a territory becomes empty, standardized, or broken.
We’re not here to use the land.

We’re here to care for it, bring out its value, and give back everything it gives us.

That’s why every program we design is not just focused on the traveler—but also on the place.

We don’t just talk about protecting the planet. We act. We reduce our footprint and commit to a kind of tourism that works for the people and for the land.

We believe new sustainable and respectful models aren’t just possible—they’re our responsibility.

It’s not just about recycling. It’s about protecting the land, its pace, and its people.

We work every day to learn, to improve, and to develop new ways of minimizing the impact of our activity while generating real value for the region.

We’re committed to designing travel that makes this possible.

As a company, we have a social responsibility—and we choose to be a force for change.

That commitment is real, and that’s why we’ve earned the Biosphere Certified label. It confirms that we apply best practices aligned with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the 2030 Agenda.

Here are some of the concrete actions we take to meet those goals.

We’re committed to…

Our actions focus on three pillars. Not just on paper—but in practice.

Every itinerary is designed so that its economic impact stays in the valley, the village, and the families who live there.
Helping to keep this region alive.
We don’t work with big operators. We work with people.
Guides who live here.
Winemakers who care for their vines with their own hands.
Chefs who pick vegetables each morning and turn them into meals.
Restaurants that source locally, so the food just tastes better.

Safety protocols

We apply risk prevention protocols and civil liability insurance so every program and experience runs smoothly and reliably.

Associations & institutions

We’re not spectators. We actively contribute to business associations and advise institutions on how to improve the region.

Local collaboration

We don’t work alone. We partner with other local businesses to offer services that make a difference.

Local producers

We support the people who make this place unique—local producers who pour heart and soul into every product and keep authentic cuisine alive.

We create real encounters with people who have something to share.
From a shepherd who’s never been on Instagram to an artisan weaving garments with local wool.
This isn’t a show.
It’s authentic. Personal. Human.

We want our visitors to understand this place and the people who live there.
That’s why we participate in and design projects to restore traditional paths.

Transparency

Nothing to hide. We offer clear, honest information so you always know who you’re working with—and what to expect.

Quality & care

Excellence is our baseline. Every service we deliver is designed to exceed expectations—for your clients and for you.

Cultural heritage

We preserve and celebrate the artistic, historic, and culinary heritage of our region—with pride and with respect.

Gender equality

We empower our female team members and take real steps to prevent gender inequality. No excuses.

Local professional

We work side by side with people who live here, boosting the local economy and strengthening the professional fabric of the region.

We design routes that protect the landscape.
Avoiding overcrowding. Prioritizing accommodations, transport, and experiences that minimize our footprint.

Carbon footprint

We’re implementing ways to measure and offset our carbon footprint through local sustainability projects.

Think local first

Local is not a trend—it’s our default. We champion local talent and products in everything we do.

Energy saving

We promote energy efficiency across our operations and among staff and clients. Every action counts.

Promoting outdoor activity

We encourage outdoor sports and sustainable mobility to care for nature and enhance the experience.

Digitalization

We’re using tech to streamline processes, reduce waste, and save energy. Less is more.

For the third consecutive year, we’ve renewed our Biosphere label. A chance to reassess our practices, measure our impact, and sharpen our commitment to responsibility.

June 2023
Biosphere Certification renewed for the second year
After a full year of sustainable work, we successfully renewed our Biosphere distinction, with a strong focus on climate action (energy use, climate change mitigation)

July 2022
First Biosphere Certification: Our starting point
After months of preparation, we earned the Biosphere label for the first time.
A milestone based on the 17 UN SDGs and a clear direction for our future: to act more responsibility toward the land, its people and their heritage.

Digital culture – ongoing
For us, digitalization means doing what we already do—but better, faster, and without sacrificing quality or humanity

  • Client-oriented communication: Direct and transparent contact through digital channels.
  • Continuous learning: Courses, talks, online training—whatever it takes to keep improving.
  • Networked collaboration: The right tools for better work and better lives—like real-time document sharing..
The right tools for better work and better lives—like real-time document sharing..
  • Smart use of tech: We use tech to work smarter and more efficiently. To save energy and time.
  • Digital communication: We talk to clients, collaborators, and suppliers online. But we still love face-to-face..
  • Information management: We know where to find what we need, and we keep it ready when it matters.
  • Connected leadership: Our team stays informed and involved. Digital channels help us all stay aligned—but we also talk..
  • Strategic vision: We don’t digitalize just because it’s trendy. We ask: “Does this bring us closer to our goals?” If yes, we go all in. If not, we don’t. Simple as that.a.

Working with local projects

Tomorrow’s tourism begins with the steps we take today.
We actively support local projects that protect the Pyrenees, make them more accessible without losing their soul, and help preserve their trails, voices, and culture.
If you’d like us to design a tailor-made program that includes some of these initiatives, feel free to reach out for more details here.

Museu de Camins: an open-air museum

An initiative dedicated to restoring and maintaining a historical network of trails in a Pyrenean valley.
Here, the museum corridors are mountain paths, and the rooms are the natural and cultural heritage found along them.

They run volunteer workcamps to restore these trails, gather oral histories from local residents, and offer guided visits to promote the area’s rich heritage.

Ramat de Camins: a route full of stories, memory… and many possible paths

A trekking route inspired by the 1956 journey of writers Camilo José Cela and Josep Maria Espinàs, who walked through 70 villages in the Pyrenees.

Fifty years later, writer and hiker Núria Garcia Quera retraced their steps, creating a more hiking-friendly version of the journey and publishing her own story. This gave birth to Ramat de Camins.

Like the great classic routes in other mountain ranges, the trail follows old paths and connects village to village across four counties of the Pyrenees (Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, Aran Valley, and Alta Ribagorça), including high mountain passes along the way.

Lo Pallars Fer: Hiking in the heart of the High Pyrenees

A circular trail that crosses the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, the largest protected area in Catalonia.
It’s an immersive way to discover the essence of the high mountains: wild valleys, grazing meadows, riverside paths, ancient forests, charming villages, traditional huts (bordes) and hermitages, as well as breathtaking views over the Pallars valleys, iconic peaks like Monteixo and Pica d’Estats, and panoramic vistas of the Aigüestortes and Sant Maurici National Park.

It also includes the Caminos del Cadí route, which crosses the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.

La FERA: Gravel riding through the soul of the Pyrenees

La FERA Pyrenees Mountain Gravel is a demanding 506 km gravel route across the central Pyrenees.
It’s not for everyone: 13,000+ meters of elevation gain, mountain passes above 2,400 meters, gravel roads, scenic backroads, and long stretches where you’ll want to stop just to take it all in.
